Person-Centred Lifestyle Facilitator training – rolling out across Pinnacle Care in the new year
During 2013, 24 of our staff successfully completed Worcester University’s ‘Person-Centred Dementia Specialist Practitioner’ course.
At the same time all of our managers completed the “Leading and Managing Dementia Care Services” also delivered by Worcester University.
Our Learning and Development Manager gained 20 university credits through negotiated learning module as a result of the course.
To enable us to continue the work done with the University our Learning and Development Manager has developed a 6 module ‘Person-centred Lifestyle Facilitator’ training course, which is to be rolled out to Pinnacle Care staff in the New Year.
The course covers topics to help us understand up-to-date methods of dementia care including: meaningful activity and positive risk taking, life stories and reminiscence and working with families and the community.
