We are pleased that there is a plan to ease lockdown and looking forward to better times.
Following the announcement on Monday, the Government is advising that one nominated person may be able to enter the home following certain measures for a visit from 8th March.
As we have not yet received updated guidance for implementing these changes to visiting it is unlikely that we will be able to facilitate this from then. Once we receive this guidance and have thoroughly reviewed the changes, we will adapt our visiting procedures where necessary and inform you of these as soon as possible.
Care homes are just recovering from the second biggest spike in Care Home infection and death rates since the beginning of the pandemic and whilst we recognise the importance of regular and close contact with loved ones we are proceeding with caution.
We are also acutely aware that if a home receives two staff or resident positive COVID results within 14 days, it must close to all visiting, except end-of-life visits, without exception for 28 days minimum. Therefore, we will take this into account when reviewing the updated guidance to reduce the risk of complete closure of the home to all.
Should you wish to, you can request a copy of each home’s individual visiting procedure by emailing info@pinnaclecare.co.uk.
